Free Family Thursdays: The Story of Nesting Dolls

The Icon Museum and Study Center is excited to offer free admission and family-friendly programs on Thursdays during school vacation. Get ready to explore the Museum’s collections, spark creativity, and discover a welcoming learning environment for all ages! Join us for activities in the galleries, auditorium, or outside on the terrace (if the weather is nice).
Each Thursday will feature a new theme inspired by the Museum’s collection or special exhibitions. The Museum will offer free admission all day, with drop-in self-guided tours and crafts available. Docent and Staff-led activities will be scheduled starting at 1:00 pm.
Guided Activity: The program will feature the famous matryoshka and its different types of decoration. Coloring sheets and a mini-Russian language lesson will be provided.
Drop-in Activity: Get inspired with intricately painted doll sets from our collection, then use markers to decorate your own set of wood nesting dolls.
